As a chemical engineer turned cosmetic chemist, I became fascinated with what makes skincare truly effective — and why certain formulas stop delivering the same results as skin changes over time.
After studying more than 200 plant oils, one thing became clear:

Will Velvette oils make my skin feel greasy?
Not at all. Each formula was carefully designed by our cosmetic chemist founder to absorb quickly, leaving skin soft and velvety — never heavy. Our customers often say, “My skin just drinks it in.”
Why oils instead of creams?
Oils deliver moisture differently than creams. While creams are mostly water (which evaporates quickly), oils act as a breathable layer that helps lock in hydration and support your skin barrier. A few drops go a long way, making oils a simple, effective way to keep mature skin nourished and comfortable.
Can I use the oils on their own?
Yes. Many women use our oils as their only moisturizer. If you enjoy layering skincare, simply apply water-based products first, then seal it all in with the oil.
If I only start with one, should it be Day or Night?

Should I still wear sunscreen?
Yes — always. Our oils support your skin barrier and defend against environmental stress, but they are not a replacement for sunscreen. Apply oil first, sunscreen second, and makeup (if you wear it) last.
Are the oils scented?
Our oils have a subtle, natural aroma from the plant oils and essential oils themselves. No heavy perfumes, no synthetic fragrance. Just a gentle, uplifting scent that fades softly after application.
Will the oils stain my clothes or bedding?
Most absorb quickly and leave no trace. The only exception is our Night Face Oil, which has a natural orange hue from sea buckthorn. To be safe, allow it to absorb before your head hits the pillow.
How long do the products last?
Our oils last 12 months after opening (24 months unopened). Vitamin E and the amber glass bottles helps keep them fresh for longer, but for best results, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
